Here’s what you’ll need:One package refrigerated pie crust. Comes with 2 rolled pie crusts. I used Pillsbury brand.
Apple filling:
One small single portion of applesauce, 3.9 oz (no cinnamon added)
Cinnamon to taste
Cornstarch, approximately 2 tablespoons
Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
½ tsp. vanilla
2 tsp milk, or until spreadable
How to Make Your Air Fryer Apple Cinnamon Pop Tarts
Unroll your pie crusts and lay them out on a cutting board.
Your pie crusts are circles but that’s ok. You can try to shape them a little more like rectangles or you can just create pop tarts that have curved edges. Either way them come out tasting and looking.
You want to cut the pie crusts lengthwise into 6 long pieces, 3 pieces for each pie crust.
Next, Let’s Make Your Apple Pie Filling for the Pop Tarts
Pour applesauce into small mixing bowl.
Add cinnamon to taste.
Add one tablespoon cornstarch and mix well. Add additional cornstarch if needed to thicken.
At this point, if mixture still seems runny transfer mixture to small saucepan and place over low heat until mixture starts to thicken. This process is not hard and does not take long.
Caution: Do not leave the mixture unattended. You don’t want it to burn. You just need a small amount of moisture to evaporate, and it will be perfect.
Assemble your Pop Tarts
Once you have your apple cinnamon paste you will take about a tablespoon and spread it over the center portion of one ½ of each of your pie crusts.
It should make enough so that all the apple paste is used.
Note: You won’t be putting a thick amount of apple paste onto each pop tart, but don’t worry.
The filling is rich and flavorful, and it will be plenty.
Too much and it would probably ooze out.
Next, fold over each pie crust.
Seal the edges by pressing a fork around all the edges to create a crimping effect.
Let’s Cook: Time for the Air Fryer
First, preheat your air fryer to 370 for a couple of minutes.Next, spray a small amount of oil on the bottom of your air fryer.Cook pop tarts in your air fryer for 6 min. They will be golden brown and flaky when you take them out.
Let’s Make the Icing
Mix powdered sugar, vanilla, & milk.
Spread icing over pop tarts. You can do this even if the pop tarts are still a bit warm.
Finish off with some fall-inspired sprinkles or whatever you choose.

If you don’t yet have an air fryer or want to upgrade, here are a few things to consider.
Make sure it has the options and settings that are important to you.
Make sure it’s simple enough to use. Does it have too many options that are just so confusing you can’t figure out how to make it work?
Make sure it’s easy to clean!
Be sure it is the right size for your needs. Too small means you can’t make the batch sizes you want for your family. Too large means you can’t fit it on your counter or store it where you want!
Get one that you love the look of on your counter. It’s a big statement on your counter (unless you can keep it in your pantry.)
Either way, you want it to add to your kitchen aesthetic and not subtract.
Jodie bought this one and loves it. It checks ALL the boxes above! Julie bought this one and she loves hers as well. Julie’s Favorite Features:

Freezing Pop Tarts
